Jim Flora

James (Jim) Flora is best-known for his wild jazz and classical album covers for Columbia Records (late 1940s) and RCA Victor (1950s). He authored and illustrated 17 popular children's books and flourished for decades as a magazine illustrator. Few realize, however, that Flora was also a prolific fine artist with a devilish sense of humor and a flair for juxtaposing playfulness, absurdity and violence. Cute - and deadly

Orbit Gallery is pleased to have the opportunity to offer prints of vintage 1940s and 1950s works by legendary illustrator/fine artist Jim Flora. Under arrangement with Jim Flora Art LLC (a Flora family enterprise) and archivist/producer Irwin Chusid, Orbit Gallery will have an eye-popping selection of giclees, woodcut relief prints, and silk-screens available and on display. These prints have just been released and are in limited editions.
